Video: Medicines For The Treatment Of Aquarium Fish
Various medicinal preparations are known in the aquarium hobby. They should be used after the final diagnosis of the disease. The drug is usually introduced into the aquarium in several doses, gradually increasing the required concentration. The drug is preliminarily diluted in a glass. It is always necessary to use only freshly prepared solutions, since many drugs quickly lose their healing properties in water solutions and in the light. When treating juveniles and weakened fish, the concentration of medicinal solutions is reduced by 15-20%.
Table salt NaCl. It is used against fungal and other diseases affecting the skin of fish. The solution is prepared at the rate of 1 full tablespoon of salt per 10 liters of water. Treatment should be carried out at an elevated water temperature of + 30-32 ° C and vigorous aeration for 7-30 days.
Chlortetracycline hydrochloride (biomycin). Used for infectious diseases and various injuries. The solution is prepared at the rate of 1.5 g per 100 l of water. Treatment is from 7 to 30 days, and the initial amount of medicine is introduced into the aquarium every 7 days. Water temperature + 24-26 ° С.
Methylene blue, Bicillin-5, Trypaflavin-ultra, streptocid, copper sulfate
Bicillin-5 is a drug with a wide spectrum of action. It is used to treat trichodinosis, oodiniumiasis, ichthyophthyriosis, osteosis, gyrodactylosis, fin rot, chilodonellosis, dactylogyrosis, suppresses bacterial turbidity and water bloom in the aquarium. The drug is most active in the first two hours after being added to water. It decomposes quickly in the light, so it is better to bring it in at night. Therapeutic concentration is 500,000 IU per 100 liters of water. It is necessary to dilute in water with a temperature of + 28 ° C and add immediately. into the aquarium. The water temperature in the aquarium is + 24-26 ° С. It is advisable to feed the fish during the treatment period only with live food and not earlier than two hours after the introduction of the drug. Bitsilin-5 is added to the aquarium with sick fish daily for a week, the initial amount.
Trypaflavin is used in the treatment of osteosis and trichodinosis in fish. Partially relieves fish from oodiniumiasis, ichthyophthirius, chilodonella, gyrodactylus and dactylogiruses, and also acts prophylactically against some bacterial and viral infections. It is ineffective against fungal diseases.
The therapeutic dose is 0.5-1 g per 100 liters of water. The solution is introduced in several portions, the water acquires a beautiful greenish color with a yellowish tint. The temperature is raised to + 30-32 ° C, aeration is increased. They are also used to treat bloodworms and tubifex for two days.
Methylene blue. It is used for the prevention of various parasites and for the treatment of osteosis and trichodinosis. The therapeutic dose is 30 ml of a 1% solution per 100 liters of water. Duration - from 10 to 30 days. It is easily removed from the aquarium using activated carbon, which is placed in the filter.
White streptocide is used in the treatment of infectious diseases and traumatism of fish. The therapeutic dose is 10-20 g per 100 liters of water. The duration of treatment is 10-30 days. The initial dose of the preparation is added to the aquarium every 7 days. The water temperature in the aquarium is + 24-26 ° С.
Copper sulfate (СuSO 4, SH 2 O) or copper sulfate. You can use only a chemically pure preparation for the treatment of fungal diseases, fin rot and the fight against external parasites of fish. Strong poison for all living creatures and plants. The mother liquor is prepared as follows: 1 g of copper sulfate is dissolved in 1 liter of water. Then 15 ml of the stock solution is added to 10 liters of aquarium water. Treatment can be carried out for no more than 10 days.
Combined solution of malachite green and copper sulfate. It is used against many fish parasites. In 100 l of aquarium water, 10 mg of malachite green and 15 ml of a mother liquor of 0.1% copper sulfate solution are diluted. The temperature is increased to + 28 ° C, the pH is 5.5-6.8. The initial dose of the preparation is added to the aquarium every 7-9 days.

Rivanol is used to control fish parasites at a dose of 0.2 g per 100 l of water. The course of treatment is 14-16 days.
Short baths… It is used to treat fish affected by infectious diseases. According to this technique, the concentration of medicinal solutions is close to the maximum that a sick fish can withstand. Therefore, the residence time of fish in the medicinal solution is different - from several minutes to several days. Three all-glass vessels are used. The first container contains a medicinal solution with a 50% concentration of the drug, the other two contain pure, settled water. The temperature in the three vessels is equal to the temperature of the water in the aquarium with sick fish. In a separate bottle, the diluted medicinal product is kept ready, after which it is added in the first container, a 100% concentration of the medicinal solution is formed. For the sample, 2-3 sick fish are transferred into the first container and a diluted dose of the drug is slowly poured from the bottle. If the fish are not very disturbed, all sick fish are placed. If the fish rush about, jump out of the container or turn over on one side, then settled water is added to the first vessel, reducing the concentration of the solution. After the time we recommend in the first container, the fish are transplanted into the second container for 30 minutes and then transplanted into the third container, where the fish are kept until the next treatment session. The treatment solution from the first and water from the second containers are poured. The medicinal solution is prepared before each treatment. When treating young fish, the concentration is reduced by 30-50%.After the time we recommend in the first container, the fish are transplanted into the second container for 30 minutes and then transplanted into the third container, where the fish are kept until the next treatment session. The most effective are short-term baths for the treatment of osteosis, chilodonellosis, ichthyophthyriosis, oodiniumosis, trichodinosis, gyrodactylosis, dactylogyrosis.
