It is not difficult to compensate for the lack of one or more macro- or microelements in the aquarium water, which ensure the normal vital activity of plants, since the chemicals that contain these elements are quite available.

Most of the necessary macro- and microelements are contained in complex mineral fertilizers. Currently, fertilizers are produced containing all the substances necessary for plants. This includes, in particular, complex fertilizers produced in liquid form: "Vito", "Rodnichok-1", "Rodnichok-2".

Complex mineral fertilizers of grade A and grade B are produced in granular and powder form. Besides them, micronutrient fertilizers in the form of tablets are supplied to the shops of the "Priroda" association. All of them are quite suitable for use in the aquarium. The composition of the fertilizer mixtures is indicated on the labels. When adding them to the aquarium, the following rule should be followed: the concentration of fertilizer in the aquarium water should be 50-100 times lower than the concentration recommended for irrigation water. This amount of mineral supplementation will be sufficient for aquarium plants and will not harm fish and other animals. You need to feed periodically. This is best done with regular water changes once a week or every ten days. Fertilizer is added to the replacement water, which is usually 1 / 5-1 / 4 the volume of the aquarium. It is better to dissolve dry fertilizers beforehand.

Much more dry mineral complex fertilizers are produced than liquid ones. The necessary set of macro- and microelements contains "Foskamid". This fertilizer can be used to feed aquatic plants, although it is poorly soluble. It can be poured directly into the aquarium with water changes once a week at the rate of 1.5-2 g per 100 liters of volume. It is necessary to ensure that the granules do not fall on the plant leaves. It is especially dangerous when they fall into the middle of the rosette of leaves of such plants as Echinodorus, Cryptocoryne, etc. The fertilizer burns young, laying leaves, they grow smaller and become deformed, which does not decorate the plants at all.

The industry produces several types of micronutrient fertilizers in tablets. Micronutrient brand 1A containing 10 mg boron, 20 mg zinc and 30 mg manganese in each tablet is very beneficial for the flora of the aquarium. One tablet should be applied 1-2 times a month for 150-200 liters of water. These fertilizers are well combined with micronutrient fertilizers grade 4A, one tablet of which contains 40 mg boron, 20 mg copper, 0.8 mg molybdenum, 0.8 mg cobalt, 0.8 mg nickel. In addition, it contains biologically active substances that stimulate plant growth. One microfertilizer tablet is added to 200-300 liters of water no more than 1 time in 2 weeks.
