General Provisions

For this service, skills are tested:

starting movement from a place, attitude to distracting stimuli and a shot, speed of towing a skier (checked in a complex);

slowing down, stopping;

turns to the right and left (two turns in each direction).

Tests are carried out on flat terrain (at sports and training grounds, on wastelands, in parks, forest parks on little-traveled roads or dense snow, in the absence of a large wind, strong thaw or frost.

Shiba and husky kennel "Gorny Khrustal Altai"

The towing of the skier is performed by a single dog, having as equipment a sled harness of any design, but with only one leash, no more than 5 m long, attached to the harness from the upper side (along the dog's back).

Ski poles are not allowed to be used while towing.

Towing distance - 1000 m long track, one circle with a turn every 500 m (diagram).

To check the change in direction of movement on command, a 60x60 m square is marked away from the main track, which is divided by the track into squares of 20x20 m.After 20 m from the start of the movement, a flag is set indicating the place of change in the direction of the dog's movement. Then, every 20 m from the first flag, three more flags are set, also indicating the place where the dog's direction of movement changes (diagram).

The route of travel and the sequence of turns can be changed for each test. The main towing track and the track for turns can run in parallel, if there is a distance between them of at least 50 m.On the main towing track, the judge places two assistant referees: one with a starting pistol 250 m from the start and 10-15 m from the route, the second - 500 m from the start at the turning point (he records the trainers' numbers in the protocol).

Skills execution description

Starting movement from a place (command with the voice "Forward!")

At the call of the judge, another trainer with a dog goes to the start line. On the command "Forward!" takes the starting position so that his ski attachment brackets are in front of the starting line. The dog is at the trainer's left leg in the “Sit!” Position. At the command of the judge "March!" the trainer gives the dog the command "Forward!" and the first 10 m has the right to help the dog with his skiing movements; repeated teams in this segment are penalized.

Two false starts are allowed; dog false starts are not counted. False start signal the judge's command "Back!"

The dog must, at the first command of the trainer, start moving abruptly, pull on the leash and pull the trainer along.

A skill is considered failed if the dog does not follow the command.

The speed of towing, attitude to distracting stimuli and to the shot (commands with the voice "Forward!", Encouragement with the voice "Good!")

The dog continues to tow, the trainer throughout the distance can reward the dog with the voice "Good!" and the command "Forward!", but cannot help with his movements on skis.

The dog should tow the handler on a tight leash, not react to distracting extraneous stimuli on the way.

The dog's attitude to the shot is checked by firing the starting pistol at the moment when the dog runs past the first assistant referee. The dog should not pay attention to the shot, continue towing, without being distracted from the route.

Having overcome the first half of the distance to the second assistant judge, the trainer with the dog makes a U-turn. At the same time, he is allowed, as at the beginning of the movement from the start, within 10 m to help the dog with his skiing movements. Having turned around, the handler with the dog continues towing in the opposite direction. The entire towing distance must be covered in no more than 30 minutes. 30 sec.

The skill is considered unfulfilled if the dog breaks down.

Running deceleration, stopping (voice command "Hush!", "Stop!")

When the dog crosses the “finish” line, the trainer gives her the command “Hush!”, According to which the dog within 10-15 m must slow down the pace of movement and then on the command “Stop!” lock in the "stand" position, the trainer stops.

The skill is considered unfulfilled if the dog does not follow the command given to it.

Turns to the right and left (commands with the voice "Right!" Or "Left!", "Forward!")

Upon the call of the judge, the trainer with the dog goes to the track No. 2 to take turns. Having passed 20 m to the first flag, the trainer gives the command "Right!" or “Left!”, “Forward!”, depending on the location of the flag indicating the change in direction of movement and, after the dog has executed the command given to it, continues to move in this direction (repeated commands when cornering are penalized). Approaching the second flag, the trainer also gives the dog the command "Right!" or "Left!", "Forward!", depending on the location of the third flag, indicating the direction of further movement change, etc., until the dog makes two turns to the right and two turns to the left.

When cornering, the handler and the dog must go around each flag indicating the direction of travel from the outside.

When overcoming turns, the trainer is allowed to help the dog with his movements, but at the same time he has no right to go ahead of the dog towing him or go parallel with it. The skill is considered unfulfilled if the dog does not follow the command given to it.
