Aquarium:

Sizes: from 40 liters per steam. In small aquariums (less than 40 liters), fish become slow.

Water: prefers old salted water (2 teaspoons per 10 liters of water). pH 6.7-8.2, dH 6-20 °.

Substrate: dark soft (coarse sand, fine gravel).

Temperature: tolerates short-term temperature drop up to 10 ° С. For normal life, you need 20-24 ° C.

Lighting: preferably natural.

Plants: thickets of living plants that allow the presence of salt in the water. It eats feathery and delicate plants. Perfectly cleans the aquarium of algae such as filamentous algae and black beard.

Registration: Requires free swimming space, plants, rocks, driftwood.

Feeding: Florida Jordanella eats mainly plant foods (algae, spinach puree, scalded lettuce and young nettle leaves, white bread, green pea puree), and also eats live foods (worms, hamarus).

Behavior: According to many responses, the Florida Jordanella males are territorial, so it is advisable to keep these fish separate from others. In small aquariums, aggression increases. It is better to contain in pairs. If you buy more than 2 fish, carefully monitor the formation of pairs, and transfer the extra females or males to a separate aquarium. There is information that extra females (without a pair) are killed to death. With a lack of plants, fish can become shy.

Personality: pugnacious.

Water area: prefer to keep to the bottom.

Can be kept with: tetras, tiger barbs, rasbora, ototsinklyus, plekostomus.

Not to be kept with: aggressive large fish and fish with long fins.

Spawning aquarium: light soil (e.g. sand), javan moss thickets, coconut shells (for the female), temperature 23-26 ° C, pH 7.5-8, dH 15-20 °, active filtration and aeration, water level up to 15 cm, salt is added to the water 2 teaspoons per 3.7 liters, the size of the aquarium is 20-25 liters.

Incubation: at a temperature of 24 ° C - 5-6 days.

Offspring: Larvae swim poorly, like shrimp, with sharp throws. Malki swim for 8-13 days. 10% of the water volume is changed every two weeks, the water level is low. Compulsory sorting of fry by size, because the larger ones will eat the smaller ones.

Growth rate: if there is enough food for a month, the fry can grow up to 1 cm.

Feeding the fry: starter food - "live dust", microworms, spirulina, brine shrimp nauplii, boiled chicken yolk.

Jigging from parents: the female is planted after spawning, the male is jigged after the larvae swim.
