They are completely delighted with themselves and manage to maintain their own dignity in the most overwhelmingly uncomfortable situations. The other day, my snow-white Persian-Siberian woman fell into a cauldron of dog porridge. It's good that it's not boiling, but lukewarm. Spectacle - you understand. Of course, the beauty was upset and outraged. But you should have seen this haughty person! Those regal gestures of paws shaking off sticky goo!

Favorite perfume … The cats, apparently, are also delighted with their aromas. The same cannot be said about us. I am sure that it is precisely because of their sense of their own infallibility that they spread their fragrance on a variety of occasions and in a variety of ways. But we, by virtue of our limitations, believe that they are just shitting wherever they come in spite of us. Maybe this mustachioed people set as their goal to constantly stimulate the development of the pet business? It is not without reason that hundreds of companies and tens of thousands of people around the world are working on the design and production of cat litter, special fillers, and fragrances. And the feed! The dream of every fodder producer is to create such a food, having digested which the cat would defecate with the dry perfume of the beloved mistress brand. But so far these are only dreams. Shut your nose, friends of cat owners and felinomans!

The first skills of cleanliness are instilled in babies by a mother. But cleanliness is inherent in domestic cats in the genetic code. Before relieving themselves, all animals belonging to the species "Felis catus" ("Domestic cats") dig a shallow hole in the ground with their front paws, then, after looking around, sit down. After that, they carefully bury their puddles and heaps, sniff the place - there is no smell … And only after making sure that everything is in order, they go on their business. We observe this ritual on a daily basis, although it is not intended for anyone's eyes and noses.

It was the cleanliness and "shyness" that attracted the sympathy of the ancient Egyptians to them and gradually, together with other good properties, formed the basis for the transformation of this completely independent predator into a pet.

Impressions of early childhood in cats, as well as in humans, are the most vivid. A nervous situation or a severe fright of a toddler can be imprinted for a lifetime. And nervous cats tend to express their feelings by leaving smelly marks all over their reach.

Some cats prefer to use a fluffy carpet as a toilet - it's nice to dig with a paw. It is better to remove the carpet from the floor immediately after the first "crime" than to simply throw it away and consider the culprit of this loss as your enemy.

And most importantly - no punishment! A cat is not a dog, much less a person. She does not accept punishment even five seconds after the committed action. A shout or slap has an effect only at the moment of the action itself. If, when you come home, you find a pile of cats on the rug in the bedroom, it is better to take the evil on something else, such as a punching bag. Pulling by the scruff and poking its muzzle into a heap, the cat will regard it as your foolishness and unjustified aggressiveness. Apart from resentment and fear, you will achieve nothing and will only exacerbate the situation.

Learn to say: "Scatter!" From my own experience, I was convinced that the prohibiting command, anticipating unwanted actions, is easily and quickly learned. Usually use the command "scatter!" But I emphasize once again: you can use your voice to warn of undesirable behavior - to drive the cat away from the chosen place while it is digging with its paw (if you notice, of course). However, an action can also cause confusion and fear: she will hide from you and choose places that are completely inaccessible to your control - she will climb to pee behind the refrigerator or in a loosely covered wardrobe. You will only detect it by smell, and not immediately. Indeed, unlike them, we understand the logic of "crime and punishment", but we do not have a subtle and purposeful sense of smell.

* High-bred cats are more capricious, and violators of sanitary standards are more common among them than among ordinary Murok and Vasek. The Siamese are in the first place in terms of scent marks. And most Persians have toilet training problems.
