Decorating The Aquarium With Bubbles

Many of us use bubbles in our aquariums. The bubbles are produced by filters and oxygenate the aquarium. Both filtration and aeration purify the water, making the environment in the aquarium more favorable. They also allow you to add more inhabitants. And allow you to feed the animals more.

Filtration. Stagnant water usually contains a large number of anaerobic bacteria that produce an unpleasant odor. Filtration cleans and deodorizes water. Filters can also help deal with muddy water. They remove organic impurities, odors, and give the water a natural color. And naturally they reduce the work required to keep the aquarium healthy.

Aeration. Aeration also removes unpleasant odors from the water. The bubbles allow the water to mix and be enriched with oxygen from the ambient air. Aeration inhibits the growth of anaerobic bacteria and allows aerobic bacteria to multiply, which recycle organic waste (urine, for example) into harmless compounds.

Note. The real aeration occurs at the surface of the water, not through tiny bubbles. Aeration removes carbon dioxide from the water and avoids oxygen starvation in well-stocked aquariums. Use mechanical filters.

Note on air pump. Install your pump as large as you can afford. If you barely have enough air to start the filtration system, then you will need to install another pump to increase the decorative features.

Lots of bubbles. In fact, the more bubbles, the better for the fish. But you don't want to create a whirlpool of such force that the fish simply cannot swim through it. One way or another, this will not happen in an aquarium (with corners and edges), but it may well happen in a fish bowl.

Air stones. Many of us use them in filtration systems. Air stones are presented in various forms, choose the size and shape to your liking. Small stones can float as they are too light. In this case, use a weight or large stones with the required weight. Place them against the back wall to hide the stones themselves and accentuate the decor of your tank.

A wall of bubbles. Many of us are familiar with bubble walls. These long, porous tubes create a pretty nice waterfall effect at the back of your tank. This is the easiest way to decorate your aquarium with air. Resist the temptation to bury these tubes in the ground, as this will increase the size of the bubbles and reduce the desired effect.

Add a ledge. Hide the bubble wall into the ledge. This will help hide the ugly tubes and also give the effect of rising bubbles. The effect can be enhanced by adding multiple levels to your bump. You can also place a bubble wall behind decorative rocks, plastic plants, or a piece of wood.

Drifting forest. When you place the wall of bubbles behind a piece of stained wood, you will “create a frame” of bubbles around the tree. All this is eye-catching and also encourages the growth of vegetation. Start with a fern or moss and watch them grow.

Stones. We use stones for the same purpose. Bubbles that will seep through porous stones and escaping from the corners of the stone will delight the eye. Apply moss to your rocks. The moss will eventually grow. The easiest way to do this is with sand stones.

Plastic plants. Bubbles rising around the plastic leaves will encourage algae growth. Algae are better suited to flowing water, which is why you will find the most algae in your filter tubes. To get rid of algae on plastic plants, simply rinse them in a bowl with a drop of bleach. This procedure will take about 20 minutes. It is impossible to keep plants in bleach for too long, as even plastic can lose color. Rinse and dry the plants before adding them back to the tank. Use bubbles to decorate your aquarium as they can dramatically improve the look of your aquarium.
