Video: Is The Cat Friendly With Other Pets?
Taking into account the natural hunting instinct, it is naive to assume that the cat will not attack smaller domestic animals (such as hamsters, gophers or even rabbits), as well as aquarium fish and songbirds.
In cases where a kitten and a hamster were brought up together from early childhood, it is quite possible that they will perceive each other as equals and coexist in harmony, but in practice this happens very rarely. Therefore, small pets should be kept separate, in their own cages or houses so that the cat does not have access to them.
Pets with which a cat can live peacefully are dogs, especially if a kitten and a puppy appeared in the house at the same time.
If a kitten enters a house where there is already a dog, there is a danger that the dog will become jealous and attack the baby. Therefore, here it is necessary to use the same method as when introducing a kitten to an adult cat: to pay increased attention to the dog and feed the animals separately; in particular, because they have different menus and the dog usually finishes his meal first. Naturally, mutual sympathy will manifest itself gradually. Remember the main thing: by introducing an adult cat into the house, you create increased difficulties.
